Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee or Aberdeen
We’ve worked with our amazing friends at Social Bite for years, helping them grow and change the face of homelessness in Scotland. Last year, hundreds of you joined Team itison for the world’s biggest sleepout, and this year we want to raise even more money and awareness by extending the sleepout to Scotland’s four main cities: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen.
By raising funds or donating yourself, you can help make homelessness a problem of the past, all while enjoying live performances from Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstall, and a bedtime story from Irvine Welsh.
We’re a small country. A nation of innovators. The statistics of homelessness in Scotland are not insurmountable.
Stand up and help
Round up your friends or family and get tickets for Social Bite’s Sleep in the Park. Held across Scotland’s major cities, participants will head to Edinburgh’s Princes St Gardens, Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand (TBC), Dundee’s Slessor Gardens and Aberdeen’s Duthie Park. Joining thousands of others keen to make a difference, you’ll enjoy a night of live music, inspirational speakers and a bedtime story from Irvine Welsh, all before bedding down outside for the night, giving you the chance to experience a fraction of what it’s like to have to sleep rough.
As well as your £25 ticket, you’ll raise at least another £50 for Social Bite, allowing the event to try and smash last year’s total and help even more. The more money you raise, the more people Social Bite can help, so get your friends together and find ways to fundraise! Get as creative as you like and host a bake sale, set up a swear jar in the office, host your own pub quiz or get sponsored for your sleepout.
Last year, Team itison slept out alongside thousands of others, and we're signing up to help again this year. With 2017’s event raising an incredible £4 million for projects tackling homelessness across Scotland, the event had a huge impact on some of Scotland’s most vulnerable men and women, giving rough sleepers shelter, and providing homeless people across the country with food, support and employment. As well as helping those currently experiencing homelessness, Social Bite are working hard with leading academics to investigate how the country can completely end the cycle of homelessness.
