Full of history
Opened in 1777, The Selkirk Arms has a rich history including housing the one and only Robert Burns several times around 1794. The hotel may even have been where he penned the famous Selkirk Grace before attending a dinner hosted by the Earl of Selkirk at his home on St Mary's Isle.
The hotel is located in Kirkcudbright, a charming town full of pastel coloured houses lining the wide streets as well as mostly family-owned shops and free parking all over town. Visit the Stewartry Museum to learn all about the town’s history, see the art at the brand new Kirkcudbright Galleries and enjoy plenty of outdoor activities for a perfect getaway.
Great reviews on TripAdvisor
“We were a last minute arrival and got 2 rooms. Food was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Locally situated. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again!”
“This is possibly the best Scottish hotel I've stayed in. We arrived after a hard day's cycle and our welcome could not have been better. The rooms were immaculate with everything you could ever need. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both were amazing, great choice and very tasty. If you're visiting this area then the Selkirk Arms is the place to stay.”
“This is a super little gem in a great location in a fabulous Scottish town. The restaurant has great food with local suppliers.”
