Set in 20 acres of beautiful gardens, The Roman Camp Country House Hotel dates back to 1625 after being built for the Dukes of Perth and is every inch a grand and historical venue. The sumptuous drawing room overlooking the nearby River Teith boasts elegant silk panelled walls and a stunning Morano Glass chandelier, whereas the breathtaking feature library - topped from floor to ceiling in rich antique oak – is laden with comfy sofas and big books to lose yourself in. Tuck into dinner in the opulent oval diving room, and afterwards can relax in the antique piano bar in front of the cast iron fire place with a lovely dram of whiskey.

We enjoyed our 2 x nights at the Roman Camp hotel. Comfortable room. My wife’s guide dog was appropriately .
There is not, unfortunately a great deal else in Callander, but we did the Circular walk to the Nraklinn Falls, which was well worth doing
