The hotel had a £2 million refurbishment last year so it’s been fully upgraded to add a modern finish whilst still maintaining the traditional feel.

Close to a number of quality golf courses including Lochmaban, where the 2nd hole takes you past the site of Robert the Bruce’s castle, as well as the historical Threave Gardens and Caerlaveroch Castle, there’s also plenty to keep you occupied if you manage to tear yourself away from your glorious abode.

"Super afternoon tea experience using my itison voucher. Booking was easy and turned up on Monday afternoon when the bar area was deserted. Two pots of tea later and 2hrs later we exited feeling pleasantly full. Been to other afternoon teas when portion size was far too big. This was perfect size. Trying to get myself a 2nd voucher!"
