Hi, I have never used itison before and would like to know how it works. Do I buy a voucher and then contact the hotel directly to make a reservation? If so, what happens if the hotel does not availability for the date I wish to stay at the hotel? Alternatively, if I call the hotel, prior to buying an itison voucher, to check availability, do I need to tell them that the booking will be made using an it's on voucher? Will the hotel always honour the voucher or do they give preference to bookings made directly with the hotel? Many thanks for your help.

Hi there,

I purchased the DBB offer with the understanding if booking on Saturday night I had to pay the extra and that was fine. When I called to book for Saturday 24th I was told there was no availability, however on checking other booking sites it said there was. I called back now knowing there was availability and was told actually there was availability and I couldn't use the voucher this date as Glasgow would be busy due to a football game, and that if I checked booking sites it would be very expensive to stay that night so they wouldn't be accepting voucher.. I am now wondering what my rights are as there are no excluded dates listed on your page and I wouldn't have bought it knowing this.
