All staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. However, the general impression left by our stay was less favourable. There was no draught beer available, no bacon on the first morning, and we had a mixed experience in the dining room. Our second breakfast was excellent, but the first disappointing: barely warm yet overcooked. The steak was barely edible in the evening and full of gristle, but to their credit we were not charged the expected additional amount to cover the additional cost.
The clear signs of damp should also be addressed. The corridor we used to reach our room had very clear damp problems, evidenced by its appearance and smell. -
