I visited the House for an Art Lover yesterday for afternoon tea - not my first visit but the first time I have ever been and the service not been excellent . I felt yesterday that there were very few staff present as compared to previous visits - we were given our food and and not asked about teas/ coffees - I then had to ask a member of staff if we could have tea - 2 plates put on the table with our food , one with napkins and cutlery for two and the other with jam and cream for our scones - there were 2 of us , should there not have been another plate ? We then had to ask for a refill of tea and it was brought but without milk and I had to go to the bar and ask for it as no staff around to ask - NOBODY at any time asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything - to be quite honest , one of thdcreadons that I visit is because the service IS so good ( normally ) and the food is always great - not sure I would return again which is a shame as I have always loved going with friends .

We were looking forward to our afternoon tea but it was a big letdown, the service was very slow when we did get served we received half of what we were supposed to get we had to ask for tea and butter and jam for scones we didn’t receive any cream and only two finger sandwiches each.We were not offered a refill of tea we were just left to get on with it.

Nice restaurant but very busy inside. We had the breakfast brunch for 2 people, and tbh, you don't get a lot for the £29 charge. 4 small slider rolls with bacon, sausage, black pudding, potato scone. 2 small bruscetta, 2 two small yoghurt with granola, 2 small scones with small tub of jam and clotted cream and tea or coffee. Not value for money, it was finished in 10 mins.
