We both enjoyed our lunch at Derby Lane albeit we were a bit late on arriving.
We had to get a bus from the town centre and should have got off sooner.
The staff were lovely the food was good.
We would certainly go again and this time would be able to find it a bit quicker.

It is a very lovely decorated and a cosy brunch place. The staff are kind and attentive. They even enabled us to have hot chocolate and flavoured coffee, although we were there on the itison voucher. The food was brilliant and the portions really big. Overall, great value for money and would definitely repeat.

We experienced great service and fantastic cocktails from the staff but sadly experience was spoiled by the owner/s.
We arrived at that bar and there were no staff there initially , just a group of men sitting in an area of the bar, who after around 5 minutes of us standing waiting , closed the curtain on us and we were later told we couldn’t sit in that particular area so we had to sit in small area with uncomfortable high seats.
To be ignored from owner of a business and banned from sitting in the bar is appalling and despite wonderful service from the staff , I just wouldn’t give my money to the owners so won’t return.
We only stayed as we had a voucher.

Booked the brunch and cocktail for two, and wasn't disappointed. Superb value, food and our server Scott gave helpful menu and cocktail suggestions.

After wanting to try this for a while I was quite disappointed. The bagel I ordered was hard and there wasn't a lot of taste. I was served my tea in a tea pot with a crack. My daughter asked for her eggs poached, they arrived fried, we didn't complain. Our voucher was to cover 2 drinks and 2 brunches but they included the drinks in the bill they did eventually realise I think they saw me looking puzzled. The service wasn't the best nor was the atmosphere of the place. It was pretty average compared to what we had saw on Instagram.

Booked a flight cocktail for my girlfriends and 1. We had an amazing day. Cocktails were lovely and we got foot food that was amazing. Staff were very helpful and friendly and at 1 point the owner came and spoke to us. Very friendly cheeky chappie. Would deffo recommend this wee hidden gem and will definitely be back for more. Stars out of 10..can only be a 12..

This was my first time in Derby Lane and the restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. Place was empty initially then a few more people arrived but it was quiet and lacked atmosphere which is ashame, particularly on a pay day weekend. The steak frites was fine, the red wine was a bit sweet but drinkable - it was perfectly okay for a voucher deal offer. Staff did their job but can't say they appeared friendly or did much to make you feel welcome. No dessert menu available but we were told they have ice cream and "probably just vanilla" or some pastries that were lying out on the counter. Got 4 giant balls of ice-cream heaped in a bowl. I mean, it's what was asked for but in such a pretty venue, I expected the food might have some presentation to it.
In the loos, one had no toilet seat and the other had no toilet paper.
We still had a nice evening and the meal was fine but there was nothing there to make me want to go back, particularly considering the amount of restaurant choice available nearby, which is a pity.
