Undoubtedly one of the most spectacular hotels in the country, Dornoch Castle Hotel features everything you’d expect from a proper castle, including grand fire places and a walled garden. Built in the 1400’s, this awe-inspiring fortress makes for a truly outstanding hotel where luxury, comfort and an outstanding restaurant can be found in historical surroundings.
“We arrived just after the beast from the east, and the roads were very slow due to the snow. The staff called ahead and checked on our progress, and then arranged for soup and sandwiches to be ready for our arrival. A+ for service. The castle itself was lovely, and the breakfast was nice too.”

Very welcoming staff, great service. Love the efforts to reduce waste & be sustainable.
Room was good, clean & comfortable, had everything we needed.
Breakfast had a variety of homemade items, sourdough, granola, jam, local cheeses, smoked salmon & mackerel, along with bacon and eggs etc.
Lunch & evening menu had good choice of options, everything was delicious & well-presented.
Lovely outdoor space, beer garden if weather permits, fantastic location in centre of Dornoch.
Not hotel's fault but some guests were very noisy in the early morning as they left room & went along corridor!
