Brilliant Barras

Located in the heart of the historic Barras market lies the Barras Art and Design centre (BAaD). Home to Glasgow's east end art quarter and a host of independent creative businesses, pop up shops and galleries for many years, BAaD has re-opened following extensive renovation. Now boasting a gorgeous restaurant, internal heated courtyard, event space, bar, independent food venues and pop up shops, Glasgow's newest food hub aims to stand on a level with the top European foodie hotspots.

The backdrop for today’s brilliant deal is the award-winning A’Challtainn; a seafood-lover’s heaven set in the heart of BAad. Offering the finest in Scottish fish dishes, this restaurant boasts a number of awards, including the List’s Newcomer award for 2017/2018 as well as covetable place on their ‘Hit List’ for 2018/2019.

Award-winning dining

Today’s first option will see you and a lucky friend tuck into a mouth-watering two-course lunch, choosing a starter and main each, all washed down with a sparkling glass of Prosecco. With a lunch menu packed with tasty starters like carrot, turmeric and ginger soup and mega mains like fillet of sea bass served on a bed of noodles with ginger, chilli and soya, you’ll be spoiled for choice! If you’d prefer a later affair, you can swap the lunch for an excellent evening meal selected from the restaurant’s à la carte menu.

And if you’re feeling super indulgent, upgrade to four courses and start things off with an amuse-bouche before finishing up with an indulgent dessert, plus a bottle of wine to share. You’ll kick off your evening with starters such as smoked mackerel pâté on cranberry and melba toast; mouth-watering mains like Shetland mussels coated in south Indian spices and served with house bread; and delightful desserts such as raspberry panna cotta with oak brittle and Auchentoshan gel.

With the food highly rated by renowned Glasgow restaurant critics Joanna Blythman and Ron McKenna, you know it’s bound to be brilliant!

Option 2 and 3 voucher is valid from Thur 3 Jan 2019 until Sat 30 Mar 2019, Tue – Thur 6.15pm – 10pm, Fri 6.15pm – 7pm and Sat 12noon – 5pm; subject to availability. Excludes Sundays, Mondays and 14 Feb 2019.
