Beautiful hotel, loved the spa and treatments but found the relaxation room afterwards too cold and didn’t stay to chill, literally

Nice facilities in nice surroundings.
Bath robes and towels need to be renewed. Both had holes and look tired and old.
Massage was lovely but the sound of weights being dropped at regular intervals at the near by gym was distracting from the relaxation of the massage itself. It is on deal is good value and I would go back but if I was paying full price I would be disappointed.

Shortly after purchasing this voucher another was posted for an overnight break, when I contacted the hotel they advise they would be happy to swap but unfortunately itison was particularly difficult. I appreciated that it is stipulated in the T&C’s but the fact that I was willing to spend more whilst at the venue this could be accommodate but alas this was not the case. Fortunately for me this has probably turned out for the best.
The therapist and spa experience I must say was great. Running very slightly behind which was not a problem for us at all the therapist was apologetic and in general lovely. Reception were welcoming too with clear instructions given.
The pool area is basic and we weren’t quite prepared for how many kids would be there for swim lessons. They were not particularly a bother to us but there were clearly no other child free adults about which says a lot. The shower area left a lot to be desired, hair clogging the drains and broken shower gels inside the cubicles. We chose not to stay for lunch or drinks after a very quick time in the steam room (which FYI is very temperamental).
Overall, I’m not sure this was a great “deal”, but would look to buy solely for treatments again in future.

Would have been nice to have lunch included

Beth the therapist was amazing, good quality products used, however lots of external noise. Treatment lasted 1 hour 20 minutes, in that time I could hear a treadmill going for about 30 minutes, then lots of banging of doors and dragging/dropping of equipment, not really productive for the luxury spa experience. Sauna and steam rooms are really good.

The staff were all lovely and very helpful.
I would say there was multiple background noise when getting the facials like a hoover e.g banging of doors, shouting of delivery drivers saying thanks etc.
Also the relaxation room at the end of the facial could be a bit warmer as thought it was a bit cold.

Booked a 55 minute treatment at Crutherland house- was in and out in 45 minutes including changing times and consultation! The pool area was not clean and neither was the sauna, was advertised spa facilities and when we got to the pool there was swimming lessons going on, not a spa experience at all. The gym is also built right above the treatment rooms, so there was banging noises the whole way through the treatment. Would not recommend, not worth the price.

We used our voucher for a spa day. The staff were so lovely and attentive and the treatments were great.
However overall the spa and pool area are very dated and run down now, the toilets at the pool area are frankly disgusting and the water is about an inch deep to go to the toilet. Not what you’re after.
We opted to spend more money and have lunch there but as we arrived, we just seemed to create a hassle, the restaurant only had 1 other table in but the waitress huffed and puffed as if we were such a problem, the food was nice. But the atmosphere was not great.
Overall I don’t think we’ll be returning but still managed to enjoy our treatments.
