Would like to have stayed a bit longer but only allowed to book table for a couple of hours

Loved the venue, the setting, the purvey and the service but my partner was taken ill during the evening afterwards.
And we suspect it was something that she ate during the afternoon tea, as it was stomach related and she has not consumed anything else.
I have a hardier constitution and was fine.
But that did sour our experience a bit.

Bought afternoon tea this for a friend. They were told they couldn’t have afternoon tea a when they arrived even though it was booked the week before. After a lot of trying to persuade them to leave, they were offered the 3 plates offer which I believe is less expensive than afternoon tea. They enjoyed this but I am disappointed they did not get what I paid for or what they were expecting.

This was a most original afternoon tea, all made in-house (as far as I could see) and beautifully presented. A lot of thought and effort had gone into the selection; well done the talented pastry chef! We even got a smoothie and some candy floss! The gins-and-tonic were quickly served - but the teas seemed to have been forgotten, as we had to ask for them when we had almost demolished the tasty bites. The oriental-style teapot, unfortunately, held precisey enough for two cups (so no refill) and the teabags were dropped into our cups for us to D-I-Y brew. I nicer touch would have been a selection of loose tea, so we could select our own. And second cuppas. The views from the sky bar are wonderful. Leave your car in the pay-ticket car park and get the reception to void the card when you leave the hotel. We loved the experience. Highly recommended.

Been several times now for afternoon tea and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. Food and drink delicious and setting/scenery amazing. Staff extremely helpful. Definitely recommend.

One of the worst afternoon teas I have ever had! Service very poor too. Unfriendly and very unhelpful. Such a disappointment to travel from Edinburgh for my daughters birthday celebrations!

This afternoon tea is one of the best we have all tried. Not your traditional sandwiches and cakes. This is a quirky take of wee hot savoury bites and delicious cakes. Everything was fresh. Great views too. And a big shout out to Callum who served us throughout with a smile despite him appearing to be run off his feet. Thank you Callum.

Enjoyed afternoon tea although maybe less sweet treats and more savory would be preferred. Seating was bit low this was only fault, lovely venue for show at the OVO. Staff friendly good value for money from itison
