I would return to house of Art lover but didn't think the morning tea was worth what wee paid .

Our table wasn't ready at the allotted time, we waited around 10 minutes which wasn't an ideal start.
Presentation was good, however the ciabatta sandwiches were a little dry and uninspiring. Sausage rolls and choux buns were very lovely, as were the scones. We were a little disappointed with the sponge cakes but other sweets treats were nice.
We booked 6 weeks in advance but we're only told the afternoon prior to our visit that there was a wedding taking place on Friday afternoon and we wouldn't be able to tour the house. We then discovered that the replacement voucher is only valid for 4 weeks and as we have a 2 week holiday and a family celebration in April it's unlikely that we'll be able to attend.
We did ask about visit availability on departure and the lady in the shop informed us we could've visited that morning - too late! If we'd been told that during the phone call the previous day we'd have come up earlier (we live 25 miles away so it takes a little planning)
We had really been looking forward to our visit but I'm sorry to say that our overall impression was one of disappointment.

Tour of house was really interesting and we will come back and do it again, we had not left ourselves sufficient time to do it justice. Have been to cafe several times, never thought of visiting the house. Great idea that itison voucher offered this opportunity.

Wasn’t impressed with what was offered or the service on the day we were there. One guest had dietary requirements and we told them this in advance. On the day there was no food offered for her dietary needs. We eventually spoke to the manage who was very helpful. On the whole the afternoon tea didn’t impress and neither did the service.

The tour is a real insight into the past . Piano room is delightful . The history of the site and the house very interesting. Afternoon tea was delicious Perhaps fewer cakes and 2 scones would have suited me better!!
