Hotel was lovely & had a great room. However we chose to stay during the week to take advantage of the cooked breakfast option and this wasn't available.
I feel this was false advertising and misrepresentation on itison or the hotels part and this was very disappointing, because of this I wouldn't go back or recommend.

Check in went smoothly
Friendly guy checked us in.
Room okay , had to ask to have pillowcases put on pillows.
Very disappointed with the breakfast - advertised as a full cooked but got continental.
Had to ask for coffee machine and toaster to be switched on and
Had to ask for milk.

Definitely the breakfast could be improved it was very poor and only very basic continental breakfast available.

My sister and I arrived at the Rox Hotel in Aberdeen on 20th September to find that they had problems with the plumbing and there was no hot water. The man at reception was very kind and offered to find us alternative accommodation. Within around half an hour or so he had secured accommodation for us at a hotel nearby for the same costs. My sister and I had a very nice stay at the other hotel but a big thank you to the Rox Hotel and I would not hesitate to book with them in the future.

Unfortunately our stay at the rox hotel wasn't great. We did have a lovely big room, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The hotel it's self felt a bit outdated and needed a good spruce up. Breakfast was absolutely terrible, we sat at our table for a good 15 minutes before even being acknowledged, even then we just got given menus, we didn't get told about the self service area and where to get everything. Eventually after another 15 minutes our order got taken. It was then we realised what was going on, the breakfast area on a Sunday morning was being run by one person on their own, everything at the self service area had run out and people were having to ask for everything to be topped up, it was a shambles! Eventually the receptionist came down to help after someone else complained and apparently they were the only 2 staff in the building at the time which is shocking! We were told on checking out after explaining our disappointment that the hotel was in the process of changing management but that's no excuse for the terrible breakfast service! Im surprised the poor member of staff didn't give up and leave after being left on his own! My friend even started helping to clear tables just to try and Speed things up a bit!

Claims to be 4* but unsure who’s given that rating. Whole hotel, including room was dated. Room very basic considering we were ‘upgraded’, would hate to see the regular rooms. We were faced with receptionist arguing with guests at the main reception. During our 2 night stay we had breakfast once, which was served cold so we went elsewhere the second morning.
The only good things were the accommodating security at night time, who also appeared to be the chef in the morning. The location is ideal.
We would not waste our money to stay here again.

The hotel looked beautiful and clean, quite modern. The room was ideal as well. The receptionist staff seemed lovely and helpful. However when we went for the evening meal, there was not a soul there. The ‘chef’ looked surprised to see us. There was only the option of a burger, chicken schnitzel. Nothing compared to the sample menu advertised on itison. The tables hadn't been cleaned properly and the cutlery was not clean. The waiter was also the chef and he took an age getting the food out. We asked for a gluten free burger and a veggie burger. The veggie burger turned out to be one of those vegan burgers that are supposed to taste like meat and both received the gluten free roll and not a brioche bun that was advertised. The chips were obviously double cooked and tasted like they had been cooked the day before and thrown in the fryer for heat. The salad was a few lettuce leaves and salad cream. The schnitzel was burned beyond recognition, it was tough to cut and dry as a stick even though I persevered for the thicker bits that seemed less burned. It was also swimming in grease. I then told the chef and he shrugged his shoulders and mumbled that it was supposed to be like that. There was no offer of a replacement and we practically had the puddings thrown at us.
The next mornings breakfast was quite good though. Everything seemed freshly cooked. The waitress was really nice and helpful.
The next morning I told the receptionist, who had seen and known about the previous nights complaint because my cousin mentioned it to her that night and she looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. There was no offer of money back, despite the fact we paid £20 extra for a Saturday stay.
This is such a shame because the hotel has obviously had some sort of makeover and the location is excellent for a night out. It’s such a shame that this ruined the weekend. I would probably stay again without the food because everything else was fine. It’s definitely not a 4* experience. I only wish I could send you pictures of the food.

Did not enjoy the experience at all. Staff was short. We waited around 15 minutes for someone to come to the dining room.. we asked for a bottle of white wine for the table, wine came from the shelf as we seen this. We had to ask for an ice bucket.
We waited over an hour and a half for first course. Then didn't even bother waiting for 2nd course as that took another hour. We had asked for an iron only to be told none could bring it as noone was available got it the next day.
