I had the best, the most delicious salt and pepper calamari I've ever tasted. The batter was light and dry and the calamari tender! Everything was extremely tasty and the staff helpful, smiley and not 'in your face'.
We did have to wait for our starter for quite some time, but we whiled away the time drinking wine!

Staff friendly. Surroundings fine. Choice bit limited as you would expect from a Fixed Price Menu. Four out of six dishes good; two a bit less interesting than anticipated but overall a pleasant dining experience!

The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly & helpful. We weren’t rushed and we had the table as long as we liked in the beautiful restaurant. We’ll definitely go back.

Really enjoyed our 3 courses at Malmaison Edinburgh City.
Good choice across all three courses and enjoyed everything we had. Staff were lovely.

This deal allowed us to sample a dinner at Malmaison Edinburgh City and my friend and I were impressed by the gorgeous decor of the dining room. It is a beautiful setting for a meal. The service was impeccable, unfortunately I didn't get the name of our server but she was fantastic, making us feel welcome as well as recommeding a very lovely wine after our first choice turned out to be sold out. The food was delicious and the kitchen very accomodating in being able to provide our desserts in takeaway format.

This was our first visit to the Chez Mal brasserie in Edinburgh City and it won’t be our last. We went for an early dinner so had the place to ourselves, and a lovely place it was too. The restaurant manager/server was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and made us feel at home from our arrival.
Our deal was three courses from the Prix Fixe menu with a glass of Prosecco. There were only three or four choices for each course but enough of a choice for us (others might struggle). Our food was delicious and freshly prepared, though potato sides are an extra.
We started with the Buffalo Chicken and the cauliflower and coconut soup, both beautifully served and delicious. Our next course choices were Chicken Cobb Salad and half roast chicken with herb butter which we had with truffle and Parmesan fries. We finished with a slightly dry Sticky Toffee Pudding (no dates in it) and ice cream coupe.
We will certainly be back and recommend a Chez Mal dining experience.

Excellent value for money in these times, this was our first “Itison” meal voucher used for quite a while. We arrived slightly early trying to avoid the torrential rain showers , no problem. Greeted personally by name and they had noted my request for a comfortable seat for my husband( spinal surgery). Offered choice of seating which was very comfortable. Food and Prosecco very good, perfect service. Excellent location , close to bus station and only a 5 minute walk to rail station for us “Fifers”
Already considering it for our next family gathering.
