Hotel is right by the beach and only a few minutes walk from the main street. Quiet setting but some rooms have very thin walls - we had to ask to change after the first night as we could hear every time a tap was turned on or someone walked round the room. Friendly staff and reasonable food. Near to plenty of other cafes.

Lovely old hotel in a great location. Would say food was average similar to pub grub. Serious understaffing at breakfast on Friday morning when we were there!! Waited for over an hour for boiled eggs! Two members of staff who were on did a great job but felt sorry for them as it was an impossible task!

The Grand Hotel is just perfect. From the very warm, happy, friendly welcome at reception when we first arrived. We treat ourselves to a beautiful sea view room this time, so pleased we did, it was so lovely & the view was like a living picture, great to sit on the large window sill & watch the sea! The bar area is so atmospheric and relaxing. The breakfast lovely. All the staff are so happy and friendly. The Grand is just so Grand! Thank you everyone 😊& Itison 😊

Our room was very small and in the extension of the hotel to the back of the property. We looked out onto scaffolding which was disappointing.
The breakfast was hot and very tasty the staff were also really nice this compensated for the disappointing room.

Made use of the winter break offer with Itison. Well worth the price. We love Tynemouth as a touristy type of place with its history.
Quickly settled in after checking in at reception as stayed there many times before. Know some of the staff. Liked the room. Breakfast excellent. Enjoyed an evening meal in Copper fields bar on 2 of the 3 nights. Weather quite mild for late March.
Will certainly go back to the Grand on the same Itison deal.

We paid an additional £50 for 2 nights in a sea view room and had a great view round the Sandy bay and all activity going on in the sea and promenade from walkers, runners, dog walkers, surfers, swimmers and exercise classes on the beach, this going on from 1st light to darkness. Breakfast and main meals were excellent and all staff very friendly and efficient, rooms, bathrooms clean and spacious, don’t the miss the chance to have a break at the Grand.
