Disappointing experience. The service was very slow. Waitress unfriendly. We had the afternoon tea. scones and cake were nice but the sandwiches were disappointing.

The manageress was friendly and helpful
on arrival. Liked the layout and the decor in the restaurant-conservatory area was very nice.
We both enjoyed our afternoon tea. The sandwiches, toasted wraps, mini cakes and huge scones were fresh, well prepared and tasty.
This was our first visit but would definitely return.

The first thing is that nobody asked if there were any allergies or dietary requirements. I should have said my son was pescatarian but there really wasn't any opening for that.
I hate complaining, so I apologise for this. I found the bread in the sandwiches really dry and the scones really underbaked. The carrot cake was delicious and the Victoria sponge was good but I found the chocolate cake too dry as well. I wasn't sure if perhaps they had been lying out for a while.
I would to back to try the lunch or for cocktails. I just wouldn't wish to have the afternoon tea again. It's ok though, I was treating my son and he enjoyed it and thats what really matters!

Having previously had afternoon tea at Mr McGregors we were very disappointed when we booked another voucher. The contents of the afternoon tea was awful and the service poor.

Afternoon tea was very nice. However it could be improved by more sandwiches and a bit less cakes.
Service was a bit slow but on balance a nice experience.

A tasty selection of savouries followed by scones and delicious cakes. Refills of tea and coffee were offered by a very pleasant young server who also brought us a box for our 'doggy-bag'.
