Overall it was an enjoyable experience but the alpacas were very reluctant to move so the trek was just a short walk half way up a field then we turned round and went back as time was up and we had already spent the first 10 minutes of our hour waiting for people that didn't show.
The experience would probably be better if the selling of small bags of food at £2.50 each for the children to hand feed the animals was stopped as this encouraged the alpacas to slow down and stop as they knew that this would result in a handful of food being held out to get them moving forward. A walk along a hard track with a field of sweet grass at the end of it may encourage them to move a bit more .Also there were no hand washing facilities at the alpaca enclosure for children to wash their hands after letting the animals feed off their palms, a cold tap and some antibacterial hand wash would have sufficed. We would go back as it is a stunning setting and there looked to be enough for children to do to be able to make a day of it.

We had such a great day at Crieff Hydro. So much to do that we barely had time for lunch. All the staff were lovely and fantastic with the kids. The kids left buzzing and knackered! We will definitely return.

We had a lovely time with our very energetic grandsons aged 3 & 5 who enjoyed every minute of their adventure day. Excellent value, everything you could want, lovely cafe and the sun even shone!! 😎

Great experience with our 3 year old. The instructor, Andrew, was knowledgeable and friendly, and let us feed the alpacas too which was great fun. Would highly recommend.

Lack of preparation for the session as we had to wait in alpacas to come in from the field. Paid extra to feed the alpaca but instructor ran out of food beforehand so we asked for a refund.

A great way to spend an hour! Very nice and relaxing unless the alpaca doesn’t want to be chilled. Our guide told us lots about them and answered all our questions and made the experience fun and informative. Not at all like walking a dog!
Only thing was I thought that the receptionist seemed to have a lot to cope with on her own as she had to answer the phone as well as deal with customers who had booked multiple experiences and had questions. She kept her cool but we were glad that we got there early so we didn’t miss our slot.

We had a great time at the alpaca trek experience. Easy to book a time slot, good communication from Crieff Hydro at that point. Our guides on the day were Hannah & Ellie, who were both really friendly and knowledgeable and were great with the alpacas. We were the only people out on our time slot. Our 8yr daughter got to pick one of the alpacas and the guide chose the other. The guides were so good with our daughter, we all had a fab time. There are beautiful views from the trek and we were so lucky as the sun came out on our trek. The animals seem happy in their space too. Would recommend & visit again.
