Very nice waitress. But everything else awful. Told no calamari, so ordered the prawns. Then told no prawns but could have calamari. Then both of us had the fish & chips. Tasted like something you would take out of freezer at home. Batter soft supposed to be minted peas, but didn’t get that. Asked for tartare sauce, told only had mayo. Not impressed.

Really enjoyed our meal at The Townhouse. Tasty well presented food and lovely cocktails. Good service. Highly recommend.

Surroundings were really pleasant though floor around our table had not been cleaned in ?? Days possibly, there was a half eaten cherry tomato below the stand of the table and several pieces of blue paper towel , which should have been noticed by staff - wow. Toilet needed a few maintenance aspects attended to but was clean. Food was good, cocktails not so - overall it was okay, service could have been a bit more upbeat, again it was okay. I would suggest they raise the bar in a few areas to achieve an improved perception - shame really, it could have been so much better.
I could / might return ?? but definitely needs to improve on areas highlighted.

More attention to customers on entry

The service was very poor. Taking very long periods of time between being seated, taking orders and replenishing drinks or next courses. To elaborate, for 2 courses and a drink it's took over 2 hours. Not through enjoyment or choice.
The food options were limited as they had ran out of certain items. Had the fish and chips and found several bones within the first few bites, didn't want to eat any more.
Won't be returning.

The food is good; however, it took over an hour for our food to be served, which made us almost miss the theatre.
