A break in the country
Reviewed on
A relaxing break away, a variety of activities to suit all ages including an in house cinema showing 3 films daily, a choice of two leisure facilities; pool, sauna, steamroom, Victorian Spa (adults only) which costs £30 extra for 2hour session.
Lodge accomodation; A welcome pack on arrival with high quality products.
Accommodation clean, Staff helpful & attentive, comfortable communal areas.
Nice country setting, downside= may not be suitable for those with mobility issues as lodges are set on a hill. Would recommend taking a car as public transport drops in town and only option is to take a taxi up to reception (No shuttle services direct)
Would recommend to friends & family.

Fantastic lodge, plenty activities for children, excellent customer service

Third year staying in Woodland Lodge, has everything we need. So many activities for children which is great. Pony and horse riding were enjoyed. We were celebrating a birthday during our stay and the birthday person received 2 gifts which was so kind and great customer service.
Would be good in lodges to be able to log in to our Netflix account once young children are in bed.
Always enjoy our visit .
Fantastic place for all the family.

Freezing

Lovely location. Lodge a bit dated. Bathroom absolutely freezing. Double bed not placed very well in the sloped ceiling room. Poor bedside light. Had an issue with the log burner filling the room with smoke. Reported this when leaving and received no calls. Very pricey to bring a dog, at £50 per dog per stay. Won’t be returning.
Family fun

Cold in a cosy cabin

Stated at cosy cabin there was a mix up when we arrived so cabin was cold - that was apologised for and ok - these things happen but heating turned off on our last night during the night so cabin was freezing ! Not very cosy ! When I mentioned to desk assistant on check out she wasn’t really fussed and just said do you want to speak to a manager about it … not the best.
The cabin was well equipped though for self catering cooking etc
