Bit of a let down

The hotel looks nice from outside but the room was below average and was not as good as I had expected. Double bed was okay but had to upgrade if you wanted a king size. Very small room, with very large bedside cabinets, small wardrobe where it was difficult to hang clothes as rail ran from front to back and not horizontally. Bathroom was large, almost was big as room, and was very hot, with no way to adjust heated towel rail. Shower needed regrouting as was stained and perished in places. The pillows were bad and felt lumpy and required renewal, also felt like they could be feather but didn't check. Extra charges to stay Friday and Saturday and you have to pay for parking. Think they must use these rooms for itison guests, and then send emails requesting you upgrade. If they gave guests a decent room, they would probably get repeat business, but I would not stay here again. Breakfast wasn't great, and was average at best. Mainly buffet and you can order a couple of items, but most had an extra charge.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast,,bed and shower. Standard room a bit small and I didn’t notice that on Itison voucher I could have upgraded for only £10. Pity.
Room had a few loose fittings and a light which wasn’t working and wasn’t repaired on our two night stay. Minor points but still annoying.
Overall I’d be happy to stay again.

Enjoyed our stay. Had a lovely room. Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Excellent value for money.

Despite our Itison voucher offer, this was not good value and was a very underwhelming experience.
The staff were a bit indifferent to feedback about the room. The room was very disappointing and tired looking. A large area of the faux leather bed had peeled away. The bed was very soft and the feather pillows had no protectors and were badly stained. Although these were replaced when asked, the staff offered no apology. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good.

Nicely decorated & well equipped room. Comfortable bed & lovely breakfast. Great deal & well worth a visit.
