Over priced and with less options than before and moving towards a bistro.

thought the voucher value was great but it doesn’t get you much in store - £5.99 for a 125g packet of crisps is outrageous. They have cut the cheese options as they seem to be moving more towards a bistro type with taster nights.
Stress free, relaxed and able to browse

The girl behind the counter was excellently (sunday 28th September morning) she let me taste a cheese then recommended another, which i then bought. So pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. The shop and products are so inviting

Voucher value was good, the selection of cheese was excellent. However, didn't feel the staff were engaged in helping us with choice of cheese

When cheese board was put down to us, I had to request information on the variety of the three cheeses on the board as staff were not forthcoming. I would have liked some oatcakes as well as the crackers. A rotating board would be preferable to allow a group of four to access the cheese
Malbec is a good choice of red. Would maybe purchase products in future but not repeat the event.
Great selection, helpful staff

Style Over Substance: Starter Culture Deli Misses the Mark
Reviewed on
Starter Culture Deli looks the part, but doesn’t quite earn it. Decent range, sure—but prices are steep, often a few quid more than elsewhere. Prepacked meats, no butcher’s soul. Cheese? Fine. Asked for 36-month Comté, got 18–24. Staff? Hit or miss. It’s all a bit too curated, not enough passion. Average at best. Go if you’ve got a voucher—otherwise, there are better places with more bite.
