Disappointed

Seemed like you were in a cheap coffee shop. First time in all the time that I have purchased for Itison have I been so sorely disappointed.
It was cheap, nasty and needs a revamp. No teapots, or tablecloths. You were told the sandwiches you were having, food was mediocre at best. Only saw the waitress twice once to deliver food and then when we were finished. A customer had ordered a different tea and it was served in a cup, that’s just horrible, would never go back.

Myself and my friend went for afternoon tea and it was really nice. The staff were cheerful and kind, the decor and layout was comfortable. The afternoon tea its self was delish!! 3 triangles sandwich’s with different fillings each, 1 haggis ball each, mini sausage roll each and 1 scone with cream and jam and a selection of 4 mini cake each. Was a lovely afternoon tea with unlimited tea and coffee. If in Glasgow again we would definitely return 🥰

We arrived about 10 mins earlier than our booking but no problem for the cheery lady who had us at our seat and soon explained the choices, checking if we had any allergies before service. We had mentioned no macaron or any coconut and we're assured none present in the afternoon tea offerings. Glad to hear it'd be normal foodstuffs, we were served our tea, each having a flask of tea to top up as required. It was a lovely day outdoors but there's a rule that no teas served on the terrace which was fine by us. 3 tiered rack was brought promptly of both white and brown bread sandwiches filled with tuna mayonnaise, savoury cheese and a rather spicy chicken tikka. Middle layers had scones, cream and jam with haggis bite and vegetarian sausage roll (not too keen on that) but everything else was delicious and substantial. We'd no room for the cake layer so we're offered to have the Victoria sponges, Portuguese tarts, chocolate donuts and carrot cake boxed up to take away. We didn't feel rushed by the attentive server and requested cocktails to take onto the terrace. No problem. Terrace offers a wide view across the rooftops of Glasgow and beyond especially on a warm day. It's quite a suntrap so recommend SPF cream as well! All in all, a wonderful package and great to have a lovely time spent with my daughter too.
Been several times now for afternoon tea and never been disappointed

My friend and I had a lovely, sunny, afternoon at the Hotel and enjoyed the fantastic views. As usual the Gluten free, afternoon tea, was very good with a great variety of cakes. Which I don't always manage to get in other places. Been here several times and would definitely go back. All staff very friendly and service very good.
