As soon as we arrived staff were welcoming and helpful through out the day. The treatments were good and the products Elemis were great. The pool was quite cold. We enjoyed our time at the hotel. We also had a lunch in the bar area. The food was average but the staff again were so lovely and chatty. I went to look at the garden and when leaving through door next to tables there was loads of broken glass all over where you stand to go out the door into garden.
I would return to the hotel for a spa day.

A very minimalist afternoon tea.
Sandwiches all on white bread, crusts on, with a scraping of filling. Very small scones. Cakes that would pass for large chocolates in size.
Extremely disappointed.
Houston House Hotel used to pride itself with quality. Such a shame.
Hotel in need of an update

Hotel is tired and needs an update. Spa facilities much the same. 3 female showers and one not working and cold changing rooms. Staff not very pleasant.
Seats in bar disgusting and needing cleaned or changed.
Food at night was poor but cooked breakfast in the morning was really nice.
Hotel Staff very friendly
Set in beautiful grounds but no paths or trails to explore which was one of the reason we chose the hotel as we like to walk after food.

Everything was exceptional and a wonderful high tea experience for my partner and myself. Well worth a visit in so many ways and prepared and served by excellent staff.

Afternoon tea was just ok scones were lovely cakes sandwiches not so much it is an old building and it showed when inside was good to see it but wouldn’t rush back

Nice venue but wasn’t warm enough and coffee and food was mostly average, other than the scones which were amazing. There was only one member of staff on which wasn’t nearly enough to cope with the number of tables booked. I was disappointed as the last time I booked the itison afternoon tea it was really lovely.

Hotel was very nice set in lovely grounds. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. All staff were very friendly. The pool, sauna and steam room were very good too.

Although limited spa facilities, the wonderful facial and massage made up for it. We left the treatment area totally relaxed with glowing skin. At the restaurant, the menu had a good selection from which to choose and the two courses were delicious. All the staff were very helpful and lovely to deal with at Houstoun House Hotel. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The grounds are beautiful, the staff are very helpful. The food is okay.
Much of the building needs renovated to bring it up to 2025 standards, while I understand that this is difficult given the age of the place some sympathetic investment would be a great start.

The first floor restaurant where we were served was a little tired but don't let that put you off. The afternoon tea was really lovely and the staff were probably the friendliest we've experienced in a long time.
