Service charge of 12.5% applied to already expensive drinks

Food and service excellent but non discretionary 12.5% service charge on food and already expensive drinks made for an expensive meal for 2. Circa £170. Cheap it is not. I would visit again but only for a special occasion.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Pompadour and are greatly looking forward to our next visit.
The only suggestion we have is that it would be more appropriate to serve champagne in the proper glasses, as opposed to using wine glasses.

Disappointing overall. Venue ordinary. Portions very small particularly Cullen skink which was nothing like anything I had had before. Mains over salted. Only good experience was with service. Staff very friendly and attentive.

A pleasant dining room, but a real lack of any atmosphere, Staff were attentive. While the food was very nice, we found both our starters and main courses to be heavily salted, maybe that’s just our taste.
The drinks menu was extremely limited for any anyone wanting a lager, beer or cider as I was, which was disappointing.
Overall, had more enjoyable meals elsewhere!

The staff were lovely, very attentive & helpful but the food was not as good as we had expected. 😔 the tasting menu was far superior. Had this been our first visit we would not go back.
