The Grand York lived up to its name. Staff were all very friendly and professional. Decor was sympathetically done, room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Food was delicious.

A really lovely birthday treat in a fantastic hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, bed comfortable and good shower. Food was excellent.

Our room was amazing. We upgraded to an executive room and it was just perfect. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice, but I would have to say tat dinner was very disappointing for a five star hotel. The choice was not marvellous and the food was not as we expected. Apart from that, it was all most enjoyable.

Grand hotel in York was perfection location 5 minute walk into town. Food excellent and good size room. Great choice at breakfast. We went to spa used facilities which were alright but tired. We then learned that it is closing soon for refurbishment which will make big difference. I had read reviews about no parking at hotel and this is the only negative about hotel. NCP car park 1min walk and you get discount card from hotel works out at £21 for 24 hours. Great value with Itison which included arrival drinks and dinner on first night.

Had a great break at the Grand. The location is excellent The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, and the food was amazing
