Nothing like I expected of Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel.
Suppose I should have sensed when we walked in to just a handful of customers, not all having afternoon tea.
Old crack across teapot lid.
All sandwiches were of poor quality/tasteless and plumped out with thick bits of salad.
Cakes were also tasteless.
All in all, more than half of the afternoon tea wasn’t touched.
When we eventually managed to attract a member of staff to complain, her reply was ‘everyone else seemed to enjoy without complaint’ which I thought was a poor comment and angered me as this was part of a birthday celebration.
Over the years, my sister and friends have had many afternoon teas/lunches through Itison and never had to complain, but this was the worst food I have ever been served by a mile.
Should have checked reviews beforehand and not just assume standards will be good. On this occasion I was sadly mistaken…….lesson learned.
It was actually Bovine.

Afternoon tea
Obviously just come out of the fridge as sandwiches were exceptionally cold. Coffee was very tasteless although I do like strong coffee.
Nice surroundings and pleasant staff.
Extra charges for Tea and Coffee!

We (a group of 4) had afternoon tea at (we thought would be) the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel. Turned out it was not the hotel but Bo'Vine restaurant next to it. They should not be saying its at the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel when it clearly is not!
Adding to this, we were charged for a latte and cranberry tea.
We have had afternoon tea's at the Glasgow Hilton, Glasgow Central Station, Glasgow Corinthian's and the Bothwell Hidden Tea House. Everyone of those locations did not charge for a latte or berry tea and included then as part of the overall price of the tea.
Back to Bo'Vine, the food options were different between the 2 groups of teas that were brought out??? The sandwiches were OK but the sweets were cheap tasting and probably bought in.
Overall, the worse of all the afternoon teas we've had so far and we will not be back!

Tired venue

Venue was tired and needs a proper make over. Not just paint. No atmosphere. Afternoon tea was fine. Service a bit flat and rubbish tiny dry scone. Decent sandwiches. Patisserie cakes were lovely. .
