Sadly we were really disappointed in this afternoon tea. One very small pot of tea provided tha only half filled the mugs provided.Bread on the top of the sandwiches was as dry as if they had been sitting out for a long time prior to service. Had difficulty attracting attention of waiter and ended up going up to the bar and asking them to refill teapot with hot water. I use itison afternoon tea vouchers frequently and never had this experience before.

High tea was alright I wished they never put pickle on the cheese which they never said. I would have liked better variety on the cakes there was only 1 that I ate as the rest did not like. Some biscuits would be nice to see something different. The hotel was lovely 1st time on the place I would like to see deals on the spa I think they have inside the hotel.

Booked afternoon tea for my friends birthday. Service was poor as staff were focused on a convention going on. Food was disappointing.
Fire alarm was being tested and went off at least 3 times which was disturbing. I have been to Crowne Plaza several times for afternoon tea and have always enjoyed the experience. After this time, I don’t feel I will ever be back. It was supposed to be a special time for my friend and she was very disappointed.

I was honestly pretty disappointed. We were not offered menus for food or drink, so could not see what was coming nor select a herbal tea. The member of staff asked us for tea or coffee, the tea was cold and the coffee was just a dispensed one from the self service machine used during breakfast, not one prepared by a trained barista (i.e. bar staff).
The food was underwhelming too - the sandwiches were stale and cakes were average. scones were okay.

Disappointing Afternoon Tea

We have had afternoon teas before in the Crowne Plaza but this time was a disappointment. The bread on the sandwiches was hard as if they had been made earlier and left out for a while. Also the tea was not hot.

It lived up to our expectations. Service was very good. Big plus is being able to park easily.

The staff member who seated us was pleasant.We were served water fairly quickly while we waited on our afternoon tea to be made.It took about 15-20 minutes to arrive.The sandwiches were disappointing the end ones were hard and the fillings were sparse.Out of 8 sandwiches 4 were cheese and chutney.The two scones were inedible as they were rock hard and couldn’t get the knife through them.The three cake were nice but they were very small cakes cut in half for two.I did wait for a member of staff to come to our table to say about the scones but no one came to even ask how everything was at any point after serving us.
Overall lovely setting but afternoon tea was so disappointing and I will not be back.
