We were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room because we have stayed there numerous times. The hotel was very quiet and very warm. The food was very good. We ate there on the second night as well. The breakfast was tasty. We were disappointed that the fire was not on in the bar but guessed it was because the hotel was so quiet at that time of year. It was nice to see some staff from previous years.

I have to say this hotel surpassed my expectations. Our room was so spacious though there were a couple of things in need of attention ( stain on carpet and worn material on chair). The room was a very comfortable temperature even though it was 2C outside. The bathroom had both a bath and a separate shower, a long time since I’ve seen that, in fact never in this country.
We enjoyed a cream tea and Buck’s Fizz on arrival in the lounge area of the hotel. The decor was lovely, very luxurious. We also had dinner in the Charlie Chaplin restaurant on our first evening. The food was delicious and very well presented. The young waiter and waitress were both very pleasant and chatty. We were the last to eat but didn’t feel rushed.
We took our drinks to the bar lounge area where the staff there were again very hospitable and chatty.
Breakfasts were very good with plenty to choose from. I liked the fact that hot breakfast items seemed cooked to order.
The only thing missing in the Muthu Newton is a swimming pool!

Unfortunately, my bed was not very comfortable. It sagged in the middle and the springs creaked with every movement,
. Could really be doing with being replaced! Room 117

We enjoyed our short break at the hotel.

Very enjoyable experience. Not expected the hotel to be situated in its own ground. Although meals and breakfast were excellent we did think that they could have accommodated more people in the restaurant during the peak times. We would return to this hotel as staff were also excellent.

We’ve been a few times now and have noticed that some areas are looking tired now . Our room was fine and meal in restaurant was lovely.

We experienced problems with our room - faulty kettle and replacement hadn’t been checked for over two years. We couldn’t close one window and had to ask a member of staff to remedy that. No hairdryer in the room and we had to request that too. Evening meal was very disappointing. First choices were unavailable and replacements were barely warm. We’ve been before and it has been much better. Breakfast was good as was staff there.
