Not quite the afternoon tea we hoped

It would be good if we knew where to attend when arriving for the unlimited afternoon tea as we entered at the bar and were ignored by the team until we stopped some to ask for advice.
The food was nice but I wouldn’t say special and the self service just wasn’t for us. The scones were just ok but there were only plain available and there was no clotted cream, it was more a whipped cream that I didn’t like the taste of. The sausage roll was the star of our visit. The hot chocolate was so watery and tasteless but they did offer decaffeinated tea.
No one check in on us the whole 90 minutes were we’re in the bar, no plates were cleared and nobody acknowledged us. I’m not sure if it was because we were seated in the bar. We had booked for the restaurant but got a booth in the bar which looked nice. The seats are well worn and cushioning is minimal where many others have sat before us! We had said on the booking we were celebrating a birthday but this wasn’t acknowledged either. Not sure why ask for this kind of information on the booking if it means the teams don’t acknowledge it!
Overall it wasn’t the indulgent experience I was hoping for.

Great all you can eat afternoon tea . Fresh,tasty and plentiful . No rush and really was all you could eat . Only down side was I had to ask waitress for Prosecco as she never came over and asked us .

Excellent value for money. All food was fresh and replenished regularly. Good variety of sandwiches & cakes on offer. Tea & coffee all self service. A return visit is on the to do list.

It was a great experience and we will definitely be back. Room was lovely and very clean. We had afternoon tea, Dinner and breakfast there and they were all delicious. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

First visit, welcomed at the door all really excellent professional staff, shown to a lovely table. Plenty tea and coffee, all food excellent. To single just a few things out, finger sandwiches and fillings, great, haggis sausage roll top notch, victory sponge was a winner, cream filled pastries magnificent. It was fab and I’ll definitely be returning.

I've been here many times and I honestly can't fault the quality of the food available. Always plenty to choose from and you never have to wait long for it to be refreshed. Sadly however everytime the service let's it down. We always have to ask for.our glass of prosecco or tea/coffee. This time round was no different. Whilst the tea/coffee is now self serve, again we had to ask for our prosecco and no water was offered. Despite this we will be back as it is one of the best in Glasgoe.
