Good pub food!

Good food well presented. Friendly efficient staff. Pity closing and under new management next week. Hope it continues good food reputation.
Cosy pub, tasty food

The food was delish. Parsnip soup starter and fish and chips main for me, haggis and tattie scone starter and haggis and black pudding pie with mash for my partner. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
The pub is really cosy and comfortable, the staff welcoming and helpful.
Not really following sports, we had no idea our dinner conversation would be competing with a televised rugby match. The neighbouring tables were constantly erupting with shrieks, screams, shouts and groans. We would have liked to be tucked in a quieter corner and enjoy each other's company more. Maybe the upper floor dining room will reopen after upcoming renovation work?
Honestly, a lovely pub and we would go again.

Food was not good the steak in my steak pie was tough and the salmon was luke warm that my wife had, service was no great,
The overall quality was poor.

Unfortunately the meat was of poor quality, which is the main constituent. Some vegetables were under cooked. Suggest a rethink if this is to produce more custom.
And the adjoining table left without finishing. A lot of improvement required.
Cold food and slow uncoordinated service

Small portion of tasty but lukewarm soup. Sunday roast- quite tasty but everything on plate was cold. Nobody came to check, confusion over bill. Lovely place, decor and atmosphere let down by cold food and poor service
