Service and setting lovely, let down by sandwiches
Reviewed on
Service was excellent - very friendly and welcoming; good selection of teas etc; as an afternoon tea however, it was really let down by the sandwiches. Nice focaccia but very bulky / too filling for an afternoon tea - personally we felt there was very little flavour and the ingredient combinations were dry / unappealing. Would have been good / more typical to have a pastry or something for contrast. We love devil roast / Brooklyn so we’ll always go back but sadly felt the afternoon tea was v average and wouldn’t have it again or recommend it
Lovely place,very disappointing afternoon tea.

Was looking forward to my afternoon tea unfortunately it was unimaginative and awful.Three very ,very dry focaccia sandwich with scant fillings, one solid scone and 2 small carrot squares and 2 small sickly pink donut balls. No imagination had gone into the putting together of the afternoon tea at all.Would of been better to have something like small sausage roll, quiche, small toasted sandwich or tart. Also fancy cakes and a smaller less stale scone would of been good. Worst afternoon tea ever and have been to a few

The afternoon tea for 2 included around 6 foccacia sandwiches which looked nice however they were so dry we barely ate any. That was all the savoury items there were no sausage rolls or anything else
We got a scone each but again very dry so we left them.
There were 2 teeny lemon tarts (lovely) and 3 even tinier macarons these were also lovely. And 1 chocolate truffle which was nice but odd we just got 1 between us.
We let the venue know we were disappointed and were told the items aren't made on site but ordered in from elsewhere. We were compensated with 2 drinks n 2 pastries which was fair enough and again these were nice.
Very poor afternoon tea

Bought this after seeing photos of the afternoon tea on various reviews and on the Itison page itself but it was very poor in comparison to the photos I had seen. Two tiny sandwiches each with very scarce and uninspiring fillings, two passable scones with cream and jam, 2 miniscule macarons, 2 Costco? doughnut bites which were inedible and a one inch wide soggy passion fruit tart. We got a choice of any non-alcoholic drink from the menu each which was good, but from reading the reviews others received two but we were not offered this. The staff were nice enough but couldn't save the experience. I felt severely overcharged, even on a deal.
Very disappointing afternoon team

The sandwiches were huge. There was only a small macaron and tart au citron but the rest was a massive scone and a doughnut. Nothing special at all.
The service was poor and disorganised. Somehow we didn’t even get coffee or tea.
Very enjoyable
