It was a bit difficult to find the hotel as the promenade is pedestrian access only and the entrance is at the side. The hotel was spotlessly clean, if a little dated and the bedroom was large with a sea view.
The only negative point was the food which was ok, basic home cooked food. Nothing special, but I'd expected something better

The hotel is right on the water. Easy to get around Dunoon. The hotel was lovely. The food was great and the staff were lovely and polite. The only small downside was the shower which although gave hot water wasn’t a great amount of water but a very small thing for a wonderful stay.

We arrived as 2 coach parties were checking in which was not a problem as the staff dealt with them very quickly. We were the only non coach party guests and had the same meals as the others. The good points. Food was very good and waiter served evening meal and breakfast. We upgraded to a sea view room which was very large, really nice and comfortable. Staff were all very nice and helpful. The bad points. |The hotel was hard to find even with satnav. Down narrow side streets and not signposted. Don't know how coaches manage it. Car park very small. Hotel dated and run down in parts. Overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel was extremely tired and out-dated. The corridors & lift were the worse for wear. Our bedroom was reasonable as we had paid for an upgrade but the furniture was out-dated. We found a dirty knife in one of the drawers.
The food was terrible, the roast potatoes they served at the evening meal were like bricks but they did serve a good prawn cocktail! Breakfast was by far the worst, I asked for grapefruit segments, there were 4 at the bottom of the smallest dish I had ever seen and the portion of cornflakes wasn’t much better.
We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left after one!
