A mixed bag

The staff were very good indeed. Very pleasent, helpful and efficient. The food too was very good with good portion sizes and delivered hot and well cooked. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. There was a form of coffee machine in the room with no explanation on how it worked. There were 2 coloured 2 pods with it with no imdication whatever of what either contained. We did not use it.
However there was a need for improvement by senior management. The bedroom had a tired and dated feel. The bathroom had no lock on the door, the somewhat wornout shower was clearly in need of some attention, the shower itself appeared to be from a model Mira produced about 25 years ago. The bath plug was detatched from its chain. We were provided with 2 tiny tubes of liquid shower soap to last the two of us two days. I got a destinct feeling of penny pinching as far as our rooms and facilities were concerned and I would not return with these conditions. I think senior management are in need of greatly upgrading the rooms to a modern and acceptable standard as a matter of some urgency. We have visited many hotels and I am sorry to say that these were the least good rooms we have experienced.
Lovely rooms and great food

The food was great however we found as a group that the bar shut rather early at 9pm

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Lathones. We were met by Debi at reception who was professional, knowledgable and friendly. Debi took us to Room 1 which was our base for the one night stay and showed us how everything worked. The room was comfortable and there was a bath and shower in the bathroom. One thing to be aware of with regard to Room 1 is that it is near the main road so there is some noise from passing traffic. The quality of food at dinner was excellent and well priced and there was a good choice. The drinks were also competitively priced. Debi was also front of house at dinner and she did a fantastic job serving all the different clients with efficiency and professionalism. The breakfast the next morning was also first class. The Itison deal provided excellent value for money and we will certainly go back to The Inn at Lathones.
Relaxing stay with lovely staff

Food was expensive but lovely. Freshly cooked breakfast from a large choice of dishes. Room comfortable and bar cosy. Location was very remote on a busy country road with only a grass verge so not safe to walk on. However the bus stopped across the road hourly and it was only 13 minutes into St.Andrews. Room allocation is strictly after 4pm and Bar does not open until 4pm so we had to sit in the car until 4pm
Great first impression - canโt do better than that.

First impression: The room was warm &, on a bitterly cold February day that was a joy. Then, the rest: room & shower room very clean. And, talking about very clean, I have never seen tables & chairs cleaned so thoroughly, efficiently & fuss- free. The staff were really helpful & friendly - they are a big plus to the business! I was happy to eat in the restaurant both night (fish pie recommended!) I really enjoyed staying there and it was a super base for exploring Fife.

Awful Customer Service

We decided not to book after being shouted at down the phone to not bother coming when I called to ask about the uneven surfaces. Itison also refused a refund.
