Good afternoon tea.

Having been to St Judes a couple of years ago, using an itison voucher, I decided to buy a thank you for friends for Christmas.
Comparing it to the last time, the quality was poorer. It wasn't bad, just not great! Not much filling in the sandwiches, all the sandwiches were on brown bread which was quite thin, only 4 small cakes per person and didn't match what was on the menu. The plates felt like they had been made up in advance and left sitting out as the bread and cakes were quite dry.
The staff were pleasant and the venue was nice, but a bit on the cooler side!
I understand hospitality venues are feeling the pinch these days and overheads are high, but, personally, I'd rather pay more for better quality than not.
Awful!

Really poor quality food in a poor quality venue. Have had many afternoon teas in Glasgow - this was by FAR the worst.
Sandwiches were stale with fatty meat filling.
Cakes tasted like they were bought from Lidl.
Scones were dry.
Can’t believe there were no sausage rolls in a Glasgow afternoon tea?
Cocktail teapot was ok - although tasted rather watered down.
Cramped tables and a wait of 40 mins before we received food!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The gluten free choice of cakes was very poor, only one cake was made available.

This was one of the worst Afternoon Teas I've had. I paid for the alcohol option, I didn't realise that this meant we had no tea or coffee included.
There was no decaff coffee available - ran out.
We had two hot drinks each. One was a swap for the alcohol and we had to pay for the second.
The sandwiches were not all fresh and the fillings were very basic.
The cakes and scones very also very basic. Nothing looked like it had been made in house.
They were possibly understaffed.
Lovely chilled afternoon with friends

Great service. Was very impressed that the chef came out to check with us personally regarding our friends allergies. Bar staff were friendly and attentive too. Lovely chilled vibe. Will definitely be back.

We hadn't been here before and on arrival felt slightly disappointed as I said to my wife,"it's just a pub"
However the staff were welcoming and friendly
I ordered a drink for myself and my wife while we waited
We were given the choice of normal tea or a teapot cocktail which surprised us. The afternoon tea consisted of the usual stuff, the sandwiches were heartily filled and a great mix of cakes
The scones however were stale but were soon replaced with an apology
I was further surprised when I offered to pay for my drinks and was told they were included in the voucher
A nice afternoon all round.
Average. Wouldn’t return

I have experienced many an afternoon tea. Everyone I have purchased comes with TEA. Sometimes I’ve upgraded and got a glass of Prosecco or cocktail. This afternoon tea was just a cocktail tea pot. We had to purchase tea. The cakes were below average. Overall wasn’t great unfortunately
Excellent
