The Sunday lunch was utterly disappointing. The comments apply to both meals, this was not a single slip up. The meat, two thick slices was like shoe leather, tough and having struggled to cut then chew one small piece tasteless. The cauliflower cheese, broken crumbs from a frozen source, was steeped in tepid yellow goo resembling custard. Every element was substandard.
Our response to the meal presented was to leave with no comment, just where would we begin.

I booked a Sunday roast, it was supposed to be beef but got turkey, everything was lovely until I found a hair. It was a pity as everything was so good

We had booked our lunch for 2pm by which time there was only one choice of roast and no cullen skink either. It was cold in the restaurant

I had difficulty contacting the hotel to make the booking but then managed to get through the night before I wanted to go. Bistro was a bit cool but food was amazing. We both had mushroom soup served with ciabatta garlic bread and then I had roast chicken and my husband had the roast beef, Both served piping hot and cooked to perfection. Moved through to the bar to have our drinks and it was nice and cosy there.

When we arrived we rang the bell on reception three times to no avail. We went through to the bar and eventually found someone. The lady serving was very nice and friendly. We placed our order and waited 30 minutes for our soup which arrived tepid. We had to send it back to be heated up. We waited another 30 minutes for our main course. The roast beef Sunday roast looked lovely but was so tough one of our party couldn’t eat it. Carrot wellington tasted nice but needed a sauce with it. The kitchen service was so slow and they definitely need more staff.

Absolutely awful food which could not be eaten, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, we walked out ladder waiting an hour for food then it being disgustingy

Seemed to be short staffed, soup was perfect but the main course came on a platter and you had too divide it between the 2 of us, by the time we did that most of it was cold, also had to ask for spoons to serve it, very disappointed.
