We’ve stayed at Braid Hills Hotel on several occasions but this was the first time in the separate Club House. Room was very compact and not as characterful as some in the main building but it had a decent-sized bathroom with shower over bath. (A grab rail would be handy.) Staff were lovely and food excellent. Great location with plenty of parking and very handy for buses into the centre. Not the plushest room but a good value Itison deal for a two-night stay with dinner and wine.

Our room was very disappointing. It wasn't in the main hotel but in another building that was a pub which was closed. No lighting to find our way there .
on arrival the room was a bit tatty with scuffed and scratched furniture. The decor was poorly matched and dated and the TV was almost on the ceiling, it was that high.
Bathroom was nice and new looking.
Menu was very limited in dining room

We were upgraded from a Classic room to a Club room which was a nice bonus.
All of the staff, especially in their restaurant were so lovely, quiet and efficient.
We had a dinner in the restaurant one evening and is was terrific; beautifully cooked to order and hot. (Some restaurants serve tepid food which is always disappointing but not in Braid Hills). They use Campbells butchers which provides quality meat for breakfast too.
We have previously stayed at Braid Hills but this was our best experience. Can't wait to return.
Nothing much to improve on.

It was more than I expected.
My only suggestions for improvement would be a grab bar in the bath/shower to assist us older people and I would have preferred teapots at breakfast rather than mugs.
But really we had a lovely stay and the staff were helpful and friendly

We have stayed here a few times - with Itison deals or by booking directly - and the condition of the room is a bit of pot luck. This one needed some TLC but it was clean, comfortable and spacious. No complaints for the price we paid. All staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I'd recommend the Marshmallow & Fruit Snowball for dessert! There was ample free parking, handy bus stops and it's within walking distance of Morningside with its independent shops and cafes. A lovely stay.
