As Edinburghers we avoid restaurants in tourist areas. However we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, service and ambience in Angels With Bagpipes. Four of us had starters and mains. All the dishes were beautifully cooked and tasty. Only reservation was the roast cauliflower which was beautifully al- dente but just needed some more flavour. The waitress was very welcoming of feedback for the chef as this was a new experimental dish on the menu. I look forward to seeing how they develop it.

Wow…. the food in here was some of the very best we have ever eaten. We chose the 3 course dinner voucher and it was exceptional value for money. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive.
Everything was fresh and so tasty.
Definitely a 5 star experience and would highly recommend eating there and purchasing the itison voucher.

Itison menu quite restrictive with a number of items showing an add on price. Service adequate, but they had to be chased when we wanted a coffee and the bill.
