Small, cold, dark dingy room

Not an experience I ever wish again, room was small, dark and freezing. Electric wall panel heater was useless and the bathroom was like a freezer, no way you could shower in that without getting pneumonia. The towel had a hole in it and the bedroom curtains were at least 6” to 8” too long and trailing on the floor. I did request if possible a light and airy room with a view and looked like they delivered the exact opposite.

Enjoyed visit once again, nice room at rear of hotel room had heater in room, very good as it was colder at night. Nice bar in hotel.
Only downside was the buffet breakfast most of the items were lukewarm and the coffee in flasks were really un - drinkable only warm, do not know when this was last checked by staff.
Girl on breakfast duty looked like she really did not want to be there.
When left dinning area the girl was sitting behind a counter reading a book,no customer relations.

Our deal included dinner on one night and breakfast for two nights. For dinner we had fish and chips. The offering we received was unbelievable. The fish was burnt dark brown and what was left of the fish inside the batter was non existent. Without doubt the worst fish I have ever had in my life. To add to the misery of our stay the breakfast was not any better. Most things were overcooked particularly the bacon which could have been used to soul our shoes. Unfortunately it was a case of quantity over quality as there was plenty of food on the plate just unappetising.
We were booked to stay for two nights but decided to cut our losses and return home after one. An expensive mistake but never again.

Think this was our third visit to the Columba and it didn't disappoint.
First time we have stayed in February and although it was quite quiet we thoroughly enjoyed our stay..
Location very convenient for the city centre and some lovely walks by the river.
Room was very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful.
Definitely be back again

No staff on to check in, no bar Staff, meal was over cooked and all was dried up from being under a heat lamp, Bathroom toilet was blocked, previous occupants left their mark
The One person that was on working had to work his socks off the keep all residents happy, fair play to him, I would have thrown the apron in and went home

All faults were about housekeeping ie:- shower curtain hanging off, lack of toilet paper, lots of dust on tv, lights and tiles above bathroom sink .
Very nice chap in the bar , and the receptionist was lovely.
