Our room was cold and we had to ask for supplementary heating. Many of the carpets were showing their age and needed replacing. The menu was limited. Apart from the usual fish/burger/steak and chips, there were few specials. Staff were pleasant.

The food is so good here. We had an evening meal which was delicious. Breakfast is super too. We used the spa facilities which are so relaxing.

Exactly what we needed, relaxing. In lovely surroundings. Staff excellent, all areas clean and inviting. In our opinion all really good, no complaints.

Our stay was very enjoyable and our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Our only disappointment was that there was no water at all from both hot and cold taps on our last day we were told that there was a burst main in town. We did get an apology but no offer of any compensation.

I have been coming here since the late 1970’s. It used to be a homely hotel with a superb restaurant menu. Now it is sterile and lacks ambiance - I dare say it is exactly what some folks want and like but not for us.
The menu was very poor - I can remember not so long ago enjoying a six course taster menu which was excellent and was an inclusive feature of a b&b rate of £150 per room per night.
The fact that the toilet in our room did not flush properly and we had to revert to a bucket filled from the bath to clear the loo did not endear us to the Golf View.
