Firstly the surroundings is nothing like the picture. The walls are filthy and it was quiet that’s an alarm bell straight away. The walls are filthy not cleaned. I have no idea where the picture was on the post but it wasn’t here. The afternoon tea was served and the sandwiches were bland and bread stale. The sausage rolls were okay the steak pies we spat out. The cake cheap and synthetic. Would we go again no way and it was not worth £19 either. My advice stay well clear. This was the worst afternoon tea we have ever eaten very very disappointed. We stayed 25 minutes and left half of it.

Couldn’t use facilities after taking day off work, as there was only a tiny bit of pool available as there was a parent and toddler class on which we were not informed about or we would have changed visit times.
We got served our afternoon tea earlier instead. The restaurant was absolutely manky and needs a good clean. Tables and carpet were dirty and seat covers were dirty and stained and unsuitable to sit on, when pointed out another chair after chair were offered all as dirty as the last, ending on sitting on chair without cover.
Afternoon tea was all pre frozen products, nothing homemade except sandwiches. Tea served in coffee pots and mugs.
Nice leisure attendant gave us vouchers to return but we will not be.

We were asked if wanted hot milk with tea not even a teaspoon to stir tea. We asked for some hot water for tea reply was did we want it in a mug !!
Could have tried to have something home made
Clotted cream container was warm so didn’t risk it
They have a lovely conservatory but we were in a dark corridor area and you have to pay for the car park which we weren’t informed about beforehand

We went on Wednesday lunch time and were seated at a table in a dark, dim, windowless corner of the pub. When asked to move somewhere nicer we were told there was an issue with wasps in the outdoor area. Apparently the lovely glass extensions at the back are reserved for coach tours coming in. Why try to promote afternoon tea and then host in such a unpleasant setting?
Asked which drinks we wanted with no menu to see options so both chose tea. Food was nice enough, hot food was hot and cakes and sandwiches were fresh. Crockery could do with an update- teapots and crockery were stained, well used and just not hotel standard.
20 minutes after serving we had run out of tea but no staff in sight to reorder. Waited 10 minutes at table then went to look for staff. Rang bell at bar and still no luck. A further 5 minutes later a staff member appeared and we reordered.
Very average experience. Poorly staffed so will not be back and can't really recommend unfortunately. We also had to pay for onsight parking despite being paying guests.

Coffee cold. Bread slightly hard with practically no filling in sandwiches. Scones hard. Cakes not very appealing. Been previously and enjoyed but this time most disappointing.

We had the afternoon tea which was fantastic but no where does it tell you that you need to pay for parking which was very disappointing it’s says £1 per hour for all guests but when I used the barcode I couldn’t find a way to get it less than £4 which to me is ridiculous as we had paid for a meal wouldn’t like to be a guest staying for a few nights as parking at £1 an hour is going to be very expensive.
