Pleasantly surprised

Having read some negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised. Location is a bit out of the way but very nice. Restaurant is lovely. Lots of people choosing to eat outside as nice weather. Itison menu a bit restricted but the smoked haddock goujons were delicious and the set caramel dessert was yummy. Would definitely buy again.

Lovely restaurant & great shop. Food & service very good.
It was a very warm day & the restaurant has different areas plus outside tables. Plenty of room , tables are a good size, not squashed in. Will go back.
Exceptionally nice staff.
Relaxed, friendly, efficient and delicious cuisine.

It exceeded expectations, lovely space where we were able to have our dog with us. The service was just right, very pleasant, tentative but not intrusive.
The food was delicious and even though we were stuffed with the 2 course, I didn’t want it to end so we shared a dessert - so glad we did it was a great end to culinary delights.
Great offer but even without it, worth every pound. Thank you Nick and your team.

Excellent birthday meal.

My birthday meal at Nick's on Sat28th March was a real treat. The 2 meals chosen were: 1. prawn cocktail & haddock goujons & 2. chicken & duck pate followed by venison ragu with gnocci. The meals were absolutely delicious.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Stunning venue, lovely staff, disappointing culinary experience

We were very much looking forward to this experience, never having been to the venue before, but aware of the high reputation it held. The menu choices were much more limited than anticipated. Given we didn’t eat venison, we were essentially down to a vegetarian option or the haddock goujons (essentially breaded fish and chips). The food was presented well, but was pretty bland and was certainly nothing special. We were so disappointed. The venue, however, was stunning and the staff helpful and lovely.
