The Itison voucher was excellent value and the food was fantastic. My husband really enjoyed his scampi starter and we both had the fish and chips which was very tasty. The young waiter was particularly nice. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We all had a nice meal in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately I ordered the fish gougons and they were very much not up to their high standards. There was not issue as I was offering another choice and a very nice apology. The staff were lovely.
Lovely surroundings let down by the food

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately the service was very slow and we were very disappointed with our main course. We both chose the fish and chips and the batter was so ‘crisp’ we feared for our teeth!

We had a nice lunch at Thainstone. The young waiter was great, the food was decent and although not a big menu there was something to everyone's taste. The soup needed more flavour/seasoning and the vegetarian burger could have used coleslaw or something else to jazz it up a bit but otherwise starters and mains were pretty good. The sticky toffee pudding needed way more toffee sauce but what there was tasted nice.
A fine lunch on a dreich day.
2 course meal was delicious and service good. Dining room window seat lovely.

The fish was huge, the chips chunky and the cheesecake was creamy and not too sweet.
