I have been to the hotel many times, sometimes the food isn't quite as good as it should be, yesterday it wasn't, my roast beef was tough and the vegetables should have been hotter.

A warm welcome on arrival, and very attentive service. Buffet table to start with lots of options, all very fresh and beautifully presented. French onion soup next, if wished - highly recommend it. Then we both had roast beef, with all trimming - delicious.
Desert menu - Ihad pot au chocolat (rich) and husband had icecream (very nice).
Overall, a delightful experience with well cooked food.

The decor in the bistro is lovely, very French. Food tasty. Nice staff, only downside was the jazz music, as we are not fans. Would be nicer just to have some background music.

Meal nice, but prossecco in a wine glass does not go down well, due to the width of glass poor show and made a difference to voucher deal

Not up to expectation.
Starter buffet table good.
But main course roast beef v. poorly presented ( roughly cut , not professional looking), roast potatoes not properly roasted, lacks refinement.
Dessert also poorly presented and tasted average
Looked at the menu for other lunches and dinners, it lacked choices, the same fish main course dish appeared three times.

A couple of small things ie., roast potatoes tasted of garlic, not to my taste.
On this occasion the service was a bit slow.
At the end of the meal the waitress was in a rush for us to settle the bill.

We enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Hotel Du Vin. Lovely setting and atmosphere great. The staff were attentive and worked hard to ensure that we were all happy. Food was lovely overall, though in two of our main dishes a little heavy on the salt.
Overall however excellent!
