Tasty food in comfortable ambience

The juicy large mussels apparently came from Shetland. The toffee mini brownies with caramel sauce provided a tasty end to our 3 course meal set menu for £50.Good value and on the tram route!
Exquisite food and friendly service.

The tasting menu was varied and delicious. Had one of the special extra dishes, roast scallop, which I highly recommend. Large wine list with something for everyone.
Superb!

Loved Dulse!
An enjoyable lunch in a nice venue with friendly, helpful staff

The Leith Dulse is a really nice bright and welcoming space. The staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was good but it felt a bit more “ordinary” than food we have had in Dulse previously. (This may have been partly due to the menu choices we made). We would definitely consider coming back.

Paid £99 for the £150 tasting menu
Menu on take was for £44.50 … so £99 for 2. When they saw voucher even tho was in booking they whooped away the menu and replaced with £79 menu .. EXaCTLY same except they changed the word COLEY of Cod. So we go a sliver of cod each for £30.50
No saving, and this a total rip off. You should blacklist them.
It was outstanding!

Delicious Seafood Tasting Menu. Could not fault it if I wanted too! The mussels in a tarragon sauce took me by surprise. I've never tasted such delicious mussels. The Orkney roasted scallop was my favourite.
We came back - and will come again

Conveniently situated a few yards from The Shore tram stop, with its bustling on-street catering, Dulse is a haven of calm professionalism.
The interior has a feeling of being well-designed from experience. There is no stress.
The background music, at the right volume, entertains while muffling other diners' conversation.
The tasting menu builds sensibly and delightfully.
Considerable care has gone into the wine pairing.
Think about going on a 'school night'.
Pretty average - glad we tried it but would not return

Dulse is a local restaurant for us and we were keen to give it a try. Staff were excellent but service was slow. Food was enjoyable though not really memorable, some odd combinations on the plates - our most common answer when the staff asked if we enjoyed each dish was "different".
Overall, its the pricing of this place that leads to the middling score. For what you get, it is very expensive. The voucher price is the correct price for the food we received. Drinks are also expensive, even for the West End of Edinburgh.
We have many great restaurants here and this didn't hit the spot for us.
Delicious food and interesting menu
