I was keen to try this place due to their gluten free options
I had the gluten free burger and chips. There was no flavour at all to the burger, it just tasted like raw beef. I was so hungry I ate it with lots of coleslaw and cheese on top.
My friend struggled to enjoy her burger tho as she didn’t want to add extra side dishes to mask the flavour .
Extra side orders are expensive, eg cheese for burger , coleslaw and onion rings . We bought a £35 voucher which was worth £50. Our bill for 1 bottle of wine and 2 burger and chips with sides was well over £70. I don’t think it was worth it.
The service was quick however the staff weren’t friendly. There were no genuine smiles or chat when we tried to engage with them . The staff morale seemed low.
The pub/restaurant needs upgrading . The bathroom was particularly run down looking and didn’t smell fresh and clean
In summary , I wouldn’t return to the Butterfly & the Pig.

Great place for home made, fresh food, huge portions and also cater for coeliacs with a great selection of gluten free choices. Lovely friendly staff.

Been to B&P for various occasions over the years. Never tried their steak pie, ordered it this time. Delicious and huge serving in, it came in it's own enamel pie dish. Lovely fresh veg and mash potato came in it's own serving bowl too. We finished with cheesecake. Everything absolutely delicious and plentiful making it great value for money.
