I called in advance to enquire about the dog friendly area and whether it was suitable to have our meal in. I was advised it was not outside and we would be able to have our deal in this area. On arrival we realised that the dog friendly area was partially outside. There was a roof but it was leaking and there were heaters but we needed to get up every 10 minutes to switch them on as were on a timer. The area itself was pretty dirty and the seats were damp. We should’ve left at this point but decided just to make the best of it. We were given the menu which was very basic with only 2 cocktails to choose from. Our starters were fine but the mains were very basic, uninspiring and it was clear this was a sub-par offering. My husband’s 2 small fish goujons were paltry and contained little to no fish and he said tasted of oil. He didn’t eat his meal. Our dessert was ok but very average. No one asked if we enjoyed our meal or enquired why my husband didn’t eat his. The staff were friendly enough but it did feel that because we had purchased an Itison deal we were not as important as other guests.
We did not enjoy this experIence and unlikely to return due to the quality of the food and seating situation. If we had known how unsuitable the dog friendly area would be we would not have brought the dog and think it unacceptable that we were advised otherwise as that was the reason I called in advance! There was no one else sat in this area as clearly not suitable for the current climate or to eat as was cold and damp and not enjoyable at all.

Went with my hubby for a lunch treat and that it surely was. From the minute we arrived staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderful surroundings and nice menu choice. Food excellent, nice presentation, hot and well cooked. Had a great cocktail. Our whole experience was good and will definitely return and recommend.

The staff were very attentive and very polite. The only downside was that it is quite expensive for quite average food. However I would possibly return in the future to try some of the other dishes.
