This restaurant was new to me. I've passed it many times but was never aware of it. Great choices on the Itison menu but all comforting food for a cold day. My choices came well presented and delicious. Staff were attentive. Pretty venue. I enjoyed it.
Classic if unexciting French food

Very pleasant room, comfortable and almost warm enough for a cold February day. The food encompasses all the expected dishes - coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, steak and chips; those we tried were acceptable.The limited vegetarian options were a bit more interesting. Service was adequate despite a couple of errors with the order and slowness in refilling the water.

I've eaten here quite a few times now over the years and it never fails to disappoint me. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty. The staff are always really very nice and very helpful with regards a query you may have for a dish on the menu.

We have been many times to Le Bistrot and will certainly go back. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are extremely polite and friendly.
