A delightful visit
Reviewed on
We had a delightful visit to the Ro very recently where we took full advantage of the facilities the hotel had to offer including enjoying the Spa and the outside terrace. (The latter benefited from unseasonably sunny weather in late March!!)
Right from the start we had a lovely warm welcome from Paul and Dewmi on reception where we were allocated a very comfortable, good sized room and en-suite. In the dining room for the duration of our stay Thalina and Michael couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful — nor could Fred in the bar.
All in all the personal and professional attitude of the hotel staff contributed greatly to a very enjoyable stay at The Ro and we look forward to a return visit sometime in the future!
A very relaxing stay

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Although it is a very old building it is nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were lovely with a good choice. Great value for money. Very central although it has a short steep hill to walk down into the town and back up. Certainly keeps you fit!
Great value

Lovely large 3rd floor room with views of the lake from both windows. Bottle of prosecco in ice cooler waiting. Modern large en suite
Sensible level of heating.
Great buffet breakfast with plenty available even near the end of service.
Staff were all friendly and efficient.
Relaxing bar area
Wellness and spa area very nice. Small ladies changing area which would be tricky if busy
Across the car park from main hotel building.
Only negative was no dinner service available Sunday to Thursday. Don't know if this changes after Easter.

Great hotel in a great location, yes it’s a wee bit up a hill but it’s still in a great location.
Lovely breakfast, had a signature room which was fabulous big & roomy and a beautiful outlook over the lake.
One minor point was the amount of light that came into the room at the crack of dawn, big gaps at the side of both blinds, definitely needs “more fitted” one’s to black out AND curtains if not.
Nice enough hotel, lacked any atmosphere and little interaction from staff though they weren't unpleasant.

Knew hotel was uphill but underestimated how steep it was. So not having restaurant open for dinner in weekdays wasn't great.
Great location but tired, average facilities

Breakfast staff were lovely but others at check in were less so. Clientele was very mixed - didn’t get the feeling of a friendly atmosphere. Hotel was generally pretty tired and they charge extra for everything.

You can tell the hotel has hada lot of money spent on it, the reception, bar and restraunt all modern and nicely furnished.
Walking distance into Bowness on Windermere. Wouldnt have known about this place if it hadnt been on itison. Will defo go back. Lots of nice pubs nearby.
