A long wait for food!

I was very disappointed with how long it took for out afternoon tea to be served. I called the day before to request no butter on one set of the sandwiches and was told this was no problem. However, when we arrived we were told that this message was not passed on to the kitchen and they would need to make some new ones. This took at least 50 mins, while we asked about this we were told that the kitchen staff were not happy. We were made to feel very awkward hearing staff members talking about how angry other members of staff were. Swearing was also heard. Eventually we got our afternoon tea. Some of the bread was stale which was not nice. The cakes were nice but not good enough to make up for a disappointing afternoon. Not the mother's day treat I had in mind!
Poor service, poor quality and even being on Itson was not value for money

On arrival we were greeted and offered tea or coffee. Then 40 minutes later the afternoon tea arrived. The sandwiches were dry with no butter in bread. Very small number of cakes. The quality was poor hence value for money was debatable . We had no further interaction from staff for the rest of the visit. No one checked in or offer additional drinks. Service was very poor. Only compensation was the view. Left feeling very dissatisfied.. and thus was my first visit to the hotel and probably my last !
Lovely venue overlooking the Forth. Afternoon tea enjoyable

Afternoon tea was good but the scones left a lot to be desired. Suspect they had been overwarmed in a microwave which makes them warm but hard and almost crispy round the edges!!
Lovely views and service

We all enjoyed our visit for afternoon tea. Welcoming and friendly service, stunning views. Afternoon tea selection was ok, sandwiches pretty basic but fresh. Scones and cakes fine and plenty of tea and coffee - worth the Itison price, will definitely return

Bit of a disaster, food was rotten, microwaved scones, crispy edges, hard sandwiches and took then 10 mins to bring the tea after we started, then a further 5 mins to get milk. Service and food was rotten, wont be back.
Lovely afternoon tea served by very friendly and welcolming staff.

Afternoon tea looked attractive when it arrived. Lovely fresh sandwiches, medium sized scones with cream, jam and butter, and a selection of colourful and tasty mini sized cakes.
Most enjoyable and no problem to have a second pot of tea or a change to coffee.
Amazing hotel room and exceptional service

The Afternoon Tea was very delicious, good variety of sandwiches, cakes and scones. Extra pots of tea as needed. The room overlooking the 3 bridges was a bonus and the views were fantastic. Prosecco in the room upon arrival was lovely. Dinner delicious, breakfast was nice. No complaints at all.
Enjoyable experience

An enjoyable afternoon tea. A good selection of sandwiches and cakes although we would have preferred an additional savoury option as well. The staff were pleasant and friendly and were happy to supply additional tea/coffee.
The restaurant is lovely with views of Queensferry Crossing.
Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere with a gorgeous view.

Welcomed by a lovely young lady and taken to our seat which was an oval booth shape at the large window. Due to being close to the door my friends did experience a draft. The afternoon tea was beautiful with
Plenty of food. I would ask before hand about sandwich choices as one of them was salmon which none of the party liked but I should have asked this when booking. We felt very relaxed and were given plenty time to enjoy our afternoon tea. We definitely will be back again and would recommend to others too. Great experience.
